Pearl River, NY, November 16, 2024 – Murphy Wood Art, a Hudson Valley-based small, family business, is busy preparing for the upcoming holiday season. Nearing their 5th year in business, they are looking forward to the gifting season when new and repeat clients look for personal gifts and the opportunity to shop small.

“We create everything from canvas art and rustic wood pieces to functional art like serving boards and printed items. Knowing that our work will be gifted to people’s loved ones, we are honored to provide pieces that are handcrafted with love in the Hudson Valley,” says Margaret.

The pair’s art and woodworking business began gradually in 2020 out of their home in Pearl River, NY and has grown over the past 4-5 years, thanks to loyal local support and a growing client base in surrounding communities.

Margaret added, “Between our complementary styles and skill sets, we have been able to offer our clients a wide range of price points and gifts that are both personal and unique.”

The pair joined forces and began collaborating on pieces while also pursuing their own individual styles and mediums.

Margaret works across a variety of mediums including woodburning, resin, acrylic, and oils focusing primarily on nature and ocean-inspired themes, while Kevin has been creating custom flags, signs, and mountain art, some of which are constructed with reclaimed whiskey staves and barrel rings.

While they often create independently, they also fuse their complementary styles to bring something unique to the forefront. Their line expanded this year to include print items using Margaret’s original artwork and graphic art for individuals and local businesses.

They have exhibited their work at various street fairs in Nyack, NY; Westwood, NJ; Ridgewood, NJ; and Pearl River, NY. They have also had the opportunity to showcase their work in various art exhibits hosted by the Arts Council of Rockland, Pearl River Library, and West Nyack Library with additional shows scheduled for the spring and summer of 2025.
