Martha’s Vineyard Secession Flag (Large) | Coastal Flag
Martha’s Vineyard Secession Flag (Large) | Coastal Flag
The Martha’s Vineyard Secession Flag captures the spirit, history, and rugged beauty of the iconic island with a distinctly rustic, weathered finish. Inspired by Martha’s Vineyard’s brief movement to secede from Massachusetts and become its own state, this piece serves as both a historical tribute and a celebration of the island’s enduring character and coastal charm.
Our handcrafted interpretation is created on an approximately 20” x 33” natural wood panel, painted with a soft sky-blue background. The signature sun and bird emblem are carefully layered over the surface, then artfully distressed to achieve an authentic aged and weatherworn appearance.
Each piece is finished with three coats of premium water-based polyurethane for added protection and a subtle sheen that enhances the wood’s natural texture and character.
A hanging wire is included on the back for easy wall mounting.
Perfect for beach homes, coastal décor, island enthusiasts, or anyone who appreciates New England history and craftsmanship.

Wood items such as artwork, flags, garden stumps are finished with multiple coats of polyurethane for protection. We use water-based polyurethane or oil-based polyurethane, so if you decide to recoat a product, be sure to check the product description to see which kind was used originally so you can be consistent. We are not responsible for any damage that may result from you treating a product. If you have questions, feel free to reach out to us.
If your item is going to be displayed outdoors, we will use outdoor polyurethane for additional protection. Items left outside year-round in the elements will show wear and tear faster, so we recommend that items are brought in during harsh weather seasons.
