Dark and Smoky Reclaimed Whiskey Barrel Flag
Dark and Smoky Whiskey Barrel Flag with Natural Stripes | Rustic American Flag | Darker and Subdued colors
Made from reclaimed barrel staves, this curved flag measures roughly 19”x35”.
Each stave was lightly sanded down, cut to size and mounted on a plywood backer board with screws.
Each screw is hidden with oak dowels that are sanded smooth, adding a unique and pleasing visual element in the finished appearance.
Much of the original grain and stains are still visible on the oak staves, adding to the overall natural and rustic color of the flag. The light sanding also leaves a rough texture and feel to the finished piece, and allows the red and blue stain to deepen the colors.
For a finish, three coats of semi gloss oil based polyurethane bring out the warmth and character of the oak, while adding a nice sheen and protection.
This statement piece would look at home on a large wall space or above a fireplace mantel. Comes with hanging wire on back for easy mounting. (19”x35”)
Wood Care Instructions
Wood items such as artwork, flags, garden stumps are finished with multiple coats of polyurethane for protection. We use water-based polyurethane or oil-based polyurethane, so if you decide to recoat a product, be sure to check the product description to see which kind was used originally so you can be consistent.
